How Sedation Dentistry Works

At Berry Farms Dental, we understand that patients often may feel anxious about getting work done on their teeth or gums. In fact, some patients are deathly afraid of visiting the dentist at all. Our goal is to help you have the best oral health possible. If your fear results in not going to the dentist at all, you are risking potential loss of teeth, gum disease, and other issues.

We have a solution for these situations, and it is called sedation dentistry. We have a couple of different options available at our practice including oral conscious sedation and nitrous oxide. Each option is explained below in more detail. Have a question? We are here to help.

Oral Conscious Sedation

Dental visits can be as easy as taking a pill. Sedation dentistry is great for those who are scared or anxious about going to the dentist. This can also be a good option for those who would like to get a lot of dental work done at one time, saving you time missed at work. Through sedation dentistry, a few hours will seem like minutes with little to no recollection of the procedures completed. Dental treatment can be performed in a seemingly quick and ultra comfortable setting.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide (Laughing gas) can be administered to make you more comfortable at your dental visit. This will help to ease anxiety during the appointment.
