Fillings

We offer composite fillings which are tooth colored. White fillings will blend in with your teeth, strengthen the tooth, and will not stain the teeth or gums like the older silver fillings.

Crowns

A crown is placed over a tooth to cover the tooth, restoring its original shape and size. A crown may be needed to protect a weak tooth from breaking, to restore a severely worn tooth, or repair a tooth that has a significant amount of decay. We provide natural looking cosmetic crowns that restore both function and esthetics. In most cases your crown can be made with no temporary crown or impression involved, because we use Cerec digital technology to create most crowns the same day in our office.

Root Canal Therapy

Root canal treatment treats the nerve (pulp) of the tooth. There are several factors which contribute to the need for a root canal: trauma, gum disease, or physical irritation from deep decay, deep cracks, or very large fillings. the dentist will remove the pulp and replace it with a rubber sealant material. The tooth will then be covered with a protective crown which will reinforce the tooth against future fractures. Several years ago, diseased or infected teeth had to be removed. In most cases today, however, this is no longer true. We believe in saving teeth rather than removing them. We make every effort to help you keep your natural teeth for a lifetime.

Implants

Dental implants can be an effective method to replace one tooth or several teeth. Each implant consists of a metal anchor placed in the bone which acts as the root of the tooth and an abutment that attaches to the implant that serves as the top portion of the tooth. A crown will then be fabricated and cemented to the implant. Implants can also support a bridge, partial denture, or a full denture.

Bridges

A bridge replaces a missing tooth by bridging the gap between teeth. A bridge is made up of crowns on either side of the gap with an artificial tooth connected in between. Bridges can be supported by natural teeth or implants. A bridge will be securely cemented to the teeth, restoring the attractive natural appearance and functionality of the tooth that was lost. Bridges can also restore your ability to properly chew and speak, maintain the shape of your face, create a more even bite, and prevent other teeth from drifting out of the correct position.

Partials

Removable partial dentures are used to replace multiple missing teeth and usually consist of replacement teeth attached to gum-colored plastic bases. Depending on your needs, the dentist will design a partial denture for you. A partial denture may have a metal framework and clasps that connect to your teeth, or they can have other connectors that are more natural looking.

Extractions and Wisdom Tooth Removal

In some cases, a tooth can no longer be saved and the tooth must be removed. In other cases, teeth are removed prior to orthodontic procedures. Wisdom teeth are also commonly extracted. If the tooth needing to be removed will later be replaced with an implant, bone can also be placed at the time of extraction. This will help to prepare the site for a future implant placement and in many cases will speed up the implant procedure. The dentist will talk with you about ways to make your tooth extraction experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible.

Painless Dental Treatment

Our office understands that a lot of people fear the dentist, have had a bad dental experience, or have dental anxiety. For that reason, we take the time to help put you at ease. Our dentists use a two step prenumbing with a gel and an additional numbing spray before the injection. We also uses a specific type of anesthetic which helps cut out the traditional sting of the injection. Our office offers both laughing gas and oral conscious sedation for those who would like extra relaxation. Our goal is for you to be completely comfortable and at ease when you visit us at Berry Farms Dental.

Porcelain Inlays and Onlays

When a large, defective filling needs to be replaced, porcelain inlays and onlays can be excellent ways to restore a tooth. An inlay is a very conservative restoration and usually is inserted into the area of the grooves of a tooth. An onlay is a little larger and is used in instances where the cusp of a tooth also needs to be covered. The porcelain used in inlays and onlays is harder and more durable than the white composite fillings. The inlay or onlay will be bonded or cemented to your tooth, creating a tight seal. Inlays and onlays also provide a more conservative restoration of a tooth than a full crown, therefore preserving more tooth structure.
