In-Office Whitening is a way to quickly jump start your teeth whitening process. With in-office whitening you can leave the office with your teeth 3-5 shades lighter immediately, and you will also receive customized at-home whitening trays for touch up whitening. Metal Free Dentistry: We can provide metal-free fillings and metal-free crowns for a more cosmetic, natural look.
Night Guard/ Occlusal Guard
Night guards can help protect your teeth and prevent further loss of tooth enamel if you grind or clench your teeth. These guards are often referred to as occlusal guards.
Protective mouth guards should be used by both children and adults who play contact sports such as football, soccer, basketball, boxing, and hockey. However, even those participating in noncontact sports (gymnastics, skateboarding, mountain biking, etc.) that could have risk of injury to the mouth would also benefit from wearing a mouth guard. Mouthguards can help limit the risk of injury to the soft tissues of the mouth, avoid chipped or broken teeth, nerve damage to teeth, or even tooth loss.
Dental sealants act as a barrier to prevent cavities. They are a plastic material usually applied to the chewing surfaces of the back teeth where decay occurs most often. The sealant is painted onto the tooth enamel, where it will be securely bonded directly to the tooth. The sealant acts as a barrier, protecting enamel from plaque and acids. As long as the sealant remains intact, the tooth surface will be protected from decay. The likelihood of developing pit and fissure decay begins early in life, so children and teenagers are good candidates. However, adults can benefit from sealants as well.
Cleanings and Prevention:
Berry Farms Dental provides several different levels of teeth cleanings depending on your need. We provide routine prophylatic cleanings, full mouth debridements, and deep scale cleanings. We also provide preventative services such as digital xrays, oral cancer screenings, and sealants.
Scaling and Root Planing:
Scaling and Root Planing removes tartar and calculus from above and below the gum level. It also helps to remove harmful bacteria which contribute to gum disease.
Porcelain Inlays and Onlays:
When a large, defective filling needs to be replaced, porcelain inlays and onlays can be excellent ways to restore a tooth. An inlay is a very conservative restoration and usually is inserted into the area of the grooves of a tooth. An onlay is a little larger and is used in instances where the cusp of a tooth also needs to be covered. The porcelain used in inlays and onlays is harder and more durable than the white composite fillings. The inlay or onlay will be bonded or cemented to your tooth, creating a tight seal. Inlays and onlays also provide a more conservative restoration of a tooth than a full crown, therefore preserving more tooth structure.
A crown is placed over a tooth to cover the tooth, restoring its original shape and size. A crown may be needed to protect a weak tooth from breaking, to restore a severely worn tooth, or repair a tooth that has a significant amount of decay. We provide natural looking cosmetic crowns that restore both function and esthetics.
Same Day Crowns-CEREC Technology
A bridge replaces a missing tooth by bridging the gap between teeth. A bridge is made up of crowns on either side of the gap with an artificial tooth connected in between. Bridges can be supported by natural teeth or implants. A bridge will be securely cemented to the teeth, restoring the attractive natural appearance and functionality of the tooth that was lost. Bridges can also restore your ability to properly chew and speak, maintain the shape of your face, create a more even bite, and prevent other teeth from drifting out of the correct position.
Veneers are super thin, custom made shells of porcelain that are designed to cover the front surfaces of the teeth to improve your appearance. Veneers are bonded to the teeth, changing their color, shape, size or length. Veneers can correct teeth that are spaced, discolored, chipped, misaligned, uneven, or irregularly shaped.
Dental implants can be an effective method to replace one tooth or several teeth. Each implant consists of a metal anchor placed in the bone which acts as the root of the tooth and an abutment that attaches to the implant that serves as the top portion of the tooth. A crown will then be fabricated and cemented to the implant. Implants can also support a bridge, partial denture, or a full denture.
Mini dental implants (around 2mm in diameter) enable Dr. Johnson to place implants with a minimally invasive method. Mini dental implants are a good option when you:
- can’t withstand the rigors of conventional implant surgery
- don’t have enough bone to allow for full-sized implants to be placed
- are seeking an option with a lower cost than traditional implant treatment
Mini-implants can be used to hold a full denture or a partial denture in place by allowing the denture or partial to snap to the mini implants. This will lock in the denture or partial denture so that it stays in place and does not move. In some cases, mini implants can also be used in the replacement of a single missing tooth or multiple missing teeth.
Bone Grafting at the time of a tooth extraction will help allow you to have enough bone to support a dental implant. In cases where there is a lack of bone, it is necessary to fill in the hole where the tooth is removed with new bone at the time of extraction.
Extractions and Wisdom Tooth Removal:
In some cases, a tooth can no longer be saved and the tooth must be removed. In other cases, teeth are removed prior to orthodontic procedures. Wisdom teeth are also commonly extracted. If the tooth needing to be removed will later be replaced with an implant, bone can also be placed at the time of extraction. This will help to prepare the site for a future implant placement and in many cases will speed up the implant procedure. Dr. Johnson will talk with you about ways to make your tooth extraction experience as comfortable and relaxing as possible.
Root Canal Therapy:
Root canal treatment treats the nerve (pulp) of the tooth. There are several factors which contribute to the need for a root canal: trauma, gum disease, or physical irritation from deep decay, deep cracks, or very large fillings. Dr. Johnson will remove the pulp and replace it with a rubber sealant material. The tooth will then be covered with a protective crown which will reinforce the tooth against future fractures. Several years ago, diseased or infected teeth had to be removed. In most cases today, however, this is no longer true. We believe in saving teeth rather than removing them. We make every effort to help you keep your natural teeth for a lifetime.
Dentures are removable appliances that can replace missing teeth and help restore your smile. If you’ve lost all of your natural teeth, whether from gum disease, tooth decay or injury, replacing missing teeth will benefit your appearance and your health. Dentures make it easier to eat and speak than you could without teeth. When you lose all of your teeth, facial muscles can sag, making you look older. Dentures can help fill out the appearance of your face and profile. They can be made to closely resemble your natural teeth so that your appearance does not change much. Dentures may even improve the look of your smile. When coming to our office, feel free to bring in pictures of your smile from your past or photos of teeth that you would like to have. Many people with dentures also choose to get mini implants to further stabilize their denture, enabling them to snap their denture into place for a more secure fit.
Removable partial dentures are used to replace multiple missing teeth and usually consist of replacement teeth attached to gum-colored plastic bases. Depending on your needs, Dr. Johnson will design a partial denture for you. A partial denture may have a metal framework and clasps that connect to your teeth, or they can have other connectors that are more natural looking. If you have a partial and choose to have mini implants placed, the partial can snap to the implants, providing a more secure fit. The implants will also allow you to have a partial without having the metal clasps around teeth, allowing for a more esthetic look and less stress on the remaining teeth.

Babies and Kids:
Baby teeth matter. When a baby tooth is lost too early the permanent teeth can drift into the empty space, making it difficult for other adult teeth to find room when they come in. This can make teeth crooked or crowded. That is why starting your infant off with good oral care can help protect their teeth for years to come. The American Dental Association recommends that parents take their children to a dentist by their first birthday.

Oral Conscious Sedation:
Dental visits can be as easy as taking a pill. Sedation dentistry is great for those who are scared or anxious about going to the dentist. This can also be a good option for those who would like to get a lot of dental work done at one time, saving you time missed at work. Through sedation dentistry, a few hours will seem like minutes with little to no recollection of the procedures completed. Dental treatment can be performed in a seemingly quick and ultra comfortable setting.
Nitrous Oxide (Laughing gas) can be administered to make you more comfortable at your dental visit. This will help to ease anxiety during the appointment.
A frenectomy is the removal of a fold of tissue in the mouth that is attached from lip to gum. If the frenum pulls on the gum causing recession or interferes with the alignment of the teeth it may need to be removed.
Bonding is the application of a tooth colored composite resin material to repair a chipped, discolored, or decayed tooth. Bonding can be done in a single visit.
We offer composite fillings which are tooth colored. White fillings will blend in with your teeth, strengthen the tooth, and will not stain the teeth or gums like the older silver fillings.
Painless Dental Treatment:
Dr. Johnson understands that a lot of people fear the dentist, have had a bad dental experience, or have dental anxiety. For that reason, she takes the time to help put you at ease. She uses a two step prenumbing with a gel and an additional numbing spray before the injection. She also uses warmed anesthetic which helps cut out the traditional sting of the injection. She offers both laughing gas and oral conscious sedation for those who would like extra relaxation. Her goal is for you to be completely comfortable and at ease when you visit her at Berry Farms Dental.
