Some common questions about Invisalign™ & other clear aligner options

Many adults struggle with confidence when it comes to their smile. We see patients every day who hesitate to smile or show their teeth when speaking, not wanting others to see what they believe to be imperfections.

Patients today have more options than ever before to achieve a confident smile. For many clear aligners are a preferred choice to gradually straighten teeth over time with sets of clear, thin, fitted aligners.  Clear aligners offer discretion and flexibility and are easy to remove for meals, brushing and flossing. They can also help prevent wear and tear associated with grinding.

Clear aligners need to be worn an average of 20 hours a day. They are removable, easy to clean and are often considered more comfortable than traditional braces. For adults, the “Barely there” feature sets them apart. All in all, clear aligners are a great alternative for adults who wish to avoid the look and feel of traditional braces.

Q & A:

How long will the process take?

Treatment plans vary by patient. Some patients are looking to make minor tweaks while others are wishing for a more dramatic transformation. On average treatment plans range from 9 to 18 months.

How often will I change aligners?

You can expect to change aligners every 3 to 4 weeks depending on your treatment plan.

Is financing or a payment plan available?

Financing options are available.

Will others notice I’m wearing aligners?

The beautiful thing about clear aligners is, well, they are clear. So while it may be slightly noticeable the majority of our patients tell us most are unaware they’re wearing aligners.

Do I need to see an orthodontist or can a general dentist provide this treatment?

Clear aligners are an orthodontic treatment that can also be provided by a general dentist. We have a great deal of experience providing patients with treatment using clear aligners.
