A frenectomy is the removal of a fold of tissue in the mouth that is attached from lip to gum. If the frenum pulls on the gum causing recession or interferes with the alignment of the teeth it may need to be removed. Dr. Johnson regularly performs frenectomies in her Franklin TN dentistry practice.
